The affairs of the SAR are managed by its national trustees (one from each of the state-level and international societies), fifteen regional vice presidents, and ten national (general) officers.
Each year, these men meet several times at the national SAR Headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, to conduct business. Delegates from all state-level societies also meet annually for a multi-day session in a different city for an Annual SAR Congress. Over sixty committees made up of scores of SAR members also meet regularly to discuss, plan, and act to achieve the SAR’s objectives.
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and the SAR Foundation undergo an independent audit each year. The reports attached below indicate that the entities received an unqualified opinion from independent auditors.
