Special Event at New England Historic Genealogical Society during 126th Congress

Please join us Monday, July 11, 2016, at New England Historic Genealogical Society for the SAR free reception and small group tours of the library.

Established in 1845, NEHGS provides professional genealogists, important publications in genealogy, a data-rich website providing access to millions of records, and educational opportunities. Its eight-story library houses the largest collection of family research materials in the country. NEHGS helps family historians explore their past and understand their families' unique place in history.

This is a ticketed event with only 100 spaces. Registrants will be able to return to the library on either Tuesday or Wednesday during regular operating hours at no charge. In addition, you will receive a welcome letter from NEHGS, to allow you to request a free 15-minute consultation, one-on-one, with a staff genealogist on Tuesday, July 12, or Wednesday, July 13. These reservations must be made directly with NEHGS by July 6th through a web link provided in the welcome letter. Those requesting a consultation should bring all of their genealogical information pertaining to their search, with a definite idea of the additional information they seek.

This event is limited only to the members of the Society. You may register for your spouse and/or additional family members, but if the maximum of 100 registrants is reached, they will be placed on our wait list.

Your ticket will be held for you at the Registration Desk of Congress to be included in your welcome packet. Tickets unclaimed by midday on the day of the event will go to those on the waiting list.

NEHGS is three blocks from the Westin Copley Place Hotel (a 5-10 minute walk). A map with directions to the library will be in each welcome packet. Members of the Massachusetts Society will escort you there. More information on NEHGS is available at http://www.americanancestors.org.
